Camera 101 Presentation - Vicki W

If you have a digital camera but mostly shoot on "Automatic", this class is for you! Come hear about simple settings and photo-taking techniques just in time to improve your holiday snapshots.

Other tips:
1) Tove C shared a Kim Komando video shows several DIY projects, including a rope tripod. Skip to the 2:00 mark of the video to just see the rope tripod.

Scott Kelby Wideworld Photo Walk on Augustana Campus in Rock Island, Illinois
Our local "chapter" of the October 2012 Kelby Walk was great fun, but very rainy and wet! Eighty per cent of those pre-registered still showed up for the event and took plenty of great photos. Here's a link to a Flickr album where some of the shots taken that day are posted: http://www.flickr.com/groups/augiewalk/pool/

Monday, September 24th Digital SIG meeting - Informal meeting, Q & A, and tips for the upcoming Photo Walk at Augustana, etc.

Monday, August 27, 2012 - NO Digital SIG this month

Monday, June 25th Digital SIG meeting - Organizing your digital photo files. Photo themes. Metadata.

Tuesday, May 29th Digital SIG meeting- (Monday was Memorial Day) "Show and Tell Night" following two photo walks @ Sunset Marina, Rock Island, 2 PM Sunday, May 6th and @ Butterworth in April. Also, Dewitt Jones, photographer, philosopher, and poet. Backlighting your photos.

Monday, April 24th Digital SIG meeting - Mini-photo walk before the meeting on the Butterworth grounds. Potpourri of misc items: Kaleidoscope and other features of PaintShop Pro, Camera f/stops explained, different ways to copy a photo, where to find PhotoShop tutorials on line, sending photo files out for printing.

Monday, March 26th Digital SIG meeting - Potpourri of great sites and new technology... Live-streamed events, iPhone photos around the world, Digital SIG virtual meetings from Hewie Poplock of Florida User group, Go-Pro cameras, Mike Godsil's Scotland and France Polar Bear trips, Alphabet project for photographers, QC Photography Club monthly photos and "Is It Real?"

Monday, Feb 27th Digital SIG meeting - Snow correction and white balance, faded pictures, cloning, cloud computing, plus Sue's ice macro site and Slide Show of US President's. This is pretty cool... Loved the computer graphics involved. Presidents of the United States are morphed in sequence from George Washington to (President Elect) Barack Obama. It even tells how it was done.
